Jio phone Next is launched on the 30th of October, 2021 by Jio in partnership with Google and Qualcomm.

Jio Phone Next has a 5.45-inches TFT HD+ display with a resolution of 720 X 1440p and a 60Hz refresh rate. Surprisingly, the phone has Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The phone has a plastic removable back with a rigged design and feels very cheap in hand.

The phone does not feel heavy in hand but has big bezels on top and bottom.

The display is not so bright and you may feel problems using the phone outdoors.

Jio Phone Next is powered by Qualcomm's too old Snapdragon QM 215 processor and is based on 28nm Fabrication technology and was launched the way back in 2018-2019. It has 2 GB of LPDDR3 Ram and 32 GB of eMMC 4.5 storage and does have the support of a Micro SD Card which can be expanded up to 512 GB.
The performance of this phone is very poor. The phone feels very sluggish and the ram management is very poor as it kills apps in the background.

I will not even talk about its Antutu score and gaming performance as it is very difficult to run Antutu on this phone and games like PUBG and COD will not even run on this phone. Yes, you can play games like Clash Of Clans and small games like Candy Crush.

Jio Phone Next has a 3500 mAh Removable battery with a 7.5W charger in the box and the phone does not support any fast charging. The phone will hardly last a day with that battery.

The OS of this phone is "Pragati OS" which is made by Indian developers in partnership with Google and it does have all the Google GO apps like Gallery GO, Camera GO, etc. The OS is based on Android 11 GO edition and has some really cool features like a voice-page Translator and google assistant support as well.

Jio Phone Next has a 13MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front camera. The camera has some really nice features like it contains Snapchat filters, HDR mode, Night mode, and LED Flash.

The image quality of this phone is decent and images come good in daylight conditions.

The 1st sim card slot of this phone is locked with JIO and no other sim can be used for Data except JIO.

The Price of this phone is Rs. 6499.

COMPARING JIO PHONE NEXT WITH OTHER BUDGET SERIES

Jio Phone next is no doubt a good phone but when compared with Redmi 9A, it lags behind. Redmi 9A has a pretty good 12 nm-based Helio G25 processor and the most important of all, you have a choice of using any sim in Redmi 9A. It has got a 6.5" IPS-LCD panel with 400nits brightness with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 81.3% screen to body ratio and it also got a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Redmi 9A has eMMC 5.1 storage whereas Jio Phone Next has got eMMC 4.5 storage. So, Redmi 9A has a faster read-write speed as compared to Jio Phone Next.

Both the phone has a single Rear Camera setup of 13MP which clicks some really good photos. But the images clicked from the Redmi 9A have an Ample amount of details and a good color saturation level.
The Dynamic range of this phone is also quite good.

The video quality of the Redmi 9A performs really well. It can shoot/record videos up to 1080p@60fps and the videos are much more stable than the Jio Phone next. The video colors look natural and the mic quality is also well on the Redmi 9A.

Overall, the Camera of the Redmi 9A is better and the Jio phone next needs some improvements in the camera.

The selfie sensor of the Jio Phone next is better than that of the Redmi 9A. Redmi 9A has got a 5MP selfie sensor which is not so good.

The most interesting of all that is Redmi 9A costs around Rs. 6000.

The price of the Jio phone next starts at Rs. 6499, Though it also has a financial plan of buying the Jio phone for 4 months, 6 months, and so on. But the features that Redmi 9A offers are much better than the Jio Phone Next. So in my opinion, Go for Redmi 9A rather than Jio Phone.
