Asus Zenfone 8 feels very comfy in hand. It is very compact in size. It is lightweight as well. Asus Zenfone 8 has a simple and minimal design with just a brand name at the back. The camera cutout is also kept minimal. Overall it looks quite bold and different from the other phones.
The phone weighs 168g and has a glass back with an aluminum frame. The phone is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus on front and with Gorilla Glass 3 on the back. The phone also has dimensions of 148 x 68.5 x 8.9 mm. The device is also IP-68 certified which means it is dust and water-resistant.
DISPLAY
The Zenfone 8 has a compact 5.9-inches Super-AMOLED (Samsung AMOLED) panel with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Asus Zenfone 8 has an E4 display panel which is a power-efficient panel and has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display has a peak brightness of 1100 nits and an 82.8% screen-to-body ratio. Asus Zenfone 8 packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which is based on 5nm fabrication process technology. It has four variants, the base variant starts from 6GB ram with 128GB storage, 8GB ram with 128GB of storage, 8GB ram with 256GB storage, and goes up to 16GB of ram with 256GB of storage. The Asus Zenfone 8 has an LPDDR5 Ram type with 6400Mbps transfer rate and UFS 3.1 storage type.
Zenfone 8 comes with a 4000mAH battery with 30W fast charging. 4000mAH is very decent for this small compact screen and will last a day on moderate usage. The 30W hypercharge adapter charges the phone up to 60% in just 25 minutes.
Zenfone 8 has got ZenUI 8 which is based on Android 11. The ZenUI is almost the same as the stock android and a lightweight UI which is quite good and feels snappy.
PERFORMANCE
The snapdragon 888 processor is a great Processor and Asus has packed this beast in the Zenfone 8. The phone is a compact beast. The gaming experience of this phone is quite impressive. Playing heavy games like COD mobile in the highest graphics settings did not disappoint me.
When playing heavy games for a long duration of time, the phone gets a little warmer but it's normal. Also during the gameplay, no throttling or lags have occurred.
Asus Zenfone 8 is 25% faster in performance and 35% faster in graphics rendering. The AnTuTu score of this phone is 7,99,742

CAMERA
Asus Zenfone 8 has a Dual Camera setup.
- 64 MP Primary camera with Sony IMX 686 sensor, Dual PD autofocus, OIS, Quad Bayer technology.
- 12 MP Ultrawide angle lens with Sony IMX 363 sensor, OIS and Autofocus.
The 12 MP Ultrawide angle lens can also be used as a Macro camera and the primary camera can be used as a telephoto lens. The double-duty camera performs a great task.
Images from the primary camera are great and vibrant on a sunny day. The details are excellently balanced with a good amount of sharpening. The colors are natural and the dynamic range is perfectly balanced. Asus also offers a 2X zoom with the primary camera. The photos with 2X zoom looks great and natural with great details. But, the images lack sharpness.
The portrait shots are magnificent. Images are sharp and the subject separation is perfect. The blur looks amazing.
The 12 MP Ultrawide angle camera clicks impressive photos with vibrant colors and great contrast. The dynamic range is quite impressive on the Ultrawide angle lens.
Macro shots can be clicked with the ultra-wide-angle camera from 4cm away. Sometimes the images loose focus and look blurry. But, overall the images look great and natural.
The night shots from the primary and Ultrawide angle lens are really great. Photos look rich in details with a balanced exposure and excellent colour saturation.
Overall the images are well stable and thanks to the OIS.
Asus Zenfone 8 has a 12MP selfie camera with Sony IMX 663 sensor, with fast dual PD-autofocus. The photos are really great and sharp. They are dynamic as well with a good amount of details. The night selfies are also of decent quality. There is a good amount of details in the night images.
The camera can record videos at 8K@24fps and 4K@30/60fps with the primary camera and 4K@30/60fps with the Ultrawide angle lens. Even the selfie camera can shoot videos at 4K@30fps.
The videos from both the cameras have Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). The videos are well stabilized with vibrant details and natural colors. The wide range looks awesome and the audio quality is great.
Videos from the selfie camera are also good. Though the selfie camera does not have EIS, but the videos are quite stable.
Overall, The video shooting experience on this phone is great.

The base variant starts from 599 Euros and in my opinion, Asus Zenfone 8 is a great value-for-money smartphone.
