XIAOMI Mi 11X - FULL DETAILED REVIEW

Built Quality

Xiaomi Mi 11X comes with a glass back and the built quality of this phone is quite reliable. It feels premium in hand.

The device weighs 196g and its dimensions are 163.7 mm x 76.4 mm x 7.8 mm, but it does not feel heavy because of its perfect weight distribution.

It comes with 3 color options - Cosmic Black, Lunar White, and Celestial Silver. The Cosmic Black comes with a glossy finish while the other two comes in a matte finish. The glossy finish will attract fingerprints, so, I will recommend using the matte one along with a case.

The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Buttons are clicky and do not feel cheap at all. Xiaomi Mi 11X provides dual stereo speakers. The sound quality is quite good. It also has an I-R BLASTER. The Mi 11X does not have room for an expandable memory card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the phone provides an extra converter cable to replace the 3.5mm jack.

The Mi 11X has LPDDR5 ram-type and UFS 3.1 storage type. It has two variants 6GB ram and 128GB storage and 8GB ram and 128GB storage.

DISPLAY

The Xiaomi Mi 11X packs an excellent 6.67-inches, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution Super-AMOLED Display with a 120 Hz fast refresh rate. The display supports HDR10+ with a peak brightness of 1300 nits. it's also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The display is sort of impressive because the colors are accurate, excellent contrast ratio and therefore the viewing angles are too good. The phone has also got a slight rate of 360Hz.

The display on the Mi 11X is bright both indoors and outdoors. However, the difficulty with the display isn't whether it can get brighter but rather if it can stay that way. the very best luminosity that you simply can manually set can't be sustained by the display for quite a brief amount of your time.

Performance is the main highlight of this smartphone. The device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset which is based on a 7nm fabrication process technology. The chipset also packs Adreno 650 GPU.

Performance in everyday applications on the Mi 11X is superb, with the phone feeling fast, smooth, and responsive. The 120Hz display helps tremendously, making all applications run at the maximum refresh rate feels fluid and nimble. You can play heavy games at even high settings and the phone will not drop even a sweat. 

The phone feels Snappy and Fast. Apps open very swiftly. Though Mi 11X shows some frame drops, I hope that will get better with some software updates.

The hardware is quite capable of running demanding games, like COD mobile or PUBG mobile, at their highest visual quality settings.

CAMERA

It has got a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is 48MP with SONY IMX 582 sensor. 8MP Ultra-wide lens which gives a FOV of 119 degrees. And, a 5MP macro camera. The camera does not have the support of OIS. It can record videos at 4K@30fps with gyro-EIS.

The image quality from the main wide camera is quite decent. The AI mode is pretty good as it adds a bit more clarity to the image like the color saturation and details.

The dynamic range in the image is decent, but the problem with the dynamic range is that both the shadows and highlights being inadequately exposed. The HDR mode on the phone does not perform well. There is some over-sharpening of images around high contrast edges but, the images look fine.

The color performance of the Ultra-Wide camera is decent and therefore the colors even begin a touch more vibrant than the quality wide camera. However, the 8MP resolution does not add many details to the image.

Low Light image quality is decent. The image looks pretty good but the night mode on the camera app does not perform well if there is very low light.

The 5MP macro camera turned out to be pretty good. The images from the macro camera on the Mi 11X are rather good and it also has autofocus so you do not need to be at a group distance from the topic  This results in much more stable images.

The selfie camera is 20MP and it works quite decent. High-quality decent selfies with natural skin tones and has a very good dynamic range as well. The selfie camera has the support of night mode and clicks quite decent photos in even low light. The Audio quality and the Video quality of the selfie camera are quite impressive. 

Overall, the camera experience of this phone is decent.

BATTERY

Xiaomi Mi 11X packs a 4520 mAh battery which will easily last you throughout the day with the 120Hz panel. The phone also supports 33W fast charging and the fast ships with the box which is really great.

SOFTWARE

Mi 11X comes with the MIUI 12 out of the box. MIUI is a heavy UI/skin. But, it is optimized for this phone. MIUI contains bloatware and Ads. It also contains some Bugs but I hope Xiaomi will fix those Bugs with software updates.

PRICE

The price of this phone is Rs.30,000 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is not over-priced because there are a lot of taxes and import duties in India. In my opinion, this phone is really a value-for-money smartphone.

VERDICT

Mi 11X is completely based on performance and the phone does a great job in the performance segment. The camera of Mi 11X is rather decent.

If you are a heavy gamer and looking for a performance-rich phone, then I will strongly recommend you the Xiaomi Mi 11X. This is a good phone for Rs.30,000.
